About Me
I’m Jenna René Soto, author of The Enough Evolution series, a four book memoir and personal growth journey about becoming, breaking, healing, and learning how to build a life from wholeness instead of fear.
But I am not just one thing.
I am a veteran, author, entrepreneur, professional barrel racer, pilot, chef, wife, ranch owner, and lifelong student of what it means to become more fully yourself.
For years, I chased achievement like it would finally make me feel whole. Titles, success, horses, travel, pageants, fitness, business, military service, real estate, and every next goal I could set my sights on. From the outside, it looked ambitious. From the inside, it was often survival.
I know what it feels like to look accomplished and still feel empty. I know what it feels like to keep going because stopping feels scarier than burning out. I know what it feels like to reach the life you thought would fix everything and quietly realize you still do not feel like enough.
That is where my writing began.
The Enough Evolution series is built from my own story of striving, breaking, choosing, healing, and rebuilding. Book One, Not Enough, begins with the ache of never feeling like enough. Book Two, Had Enough, follows the moment I finally reached a breaking point and chose a different life. Book Three, Am Enough, moves into healing and self acceptance. Book Four, Never Enough, will reclaim ambition, growth, joy, purpose, and contribution from a place of fullness.
Outside of writing, I live in Oklahoma with my husband, Ted, and our animals at Rockstar Ranch. My life is a mix of horses, aviation, military contracting, real estate investing, cooking, building businesses, and trying to create a life that feels as meaningful on the inside as it may look from the outside.
I believe we are allowed to want more without believing we are less.
I believe healing does not require us to become smaller.
I believe ambition can come from purpose instead of pain.
And I believe the life we are looking for usually begins the moment we stop abandoning ourselves to earn it.
This website is where I share my books, my story, my work, and the evolution of a life that is still becoming.
Welcome to The Enough Evolution.

Meet the Horses
Taz
Fultastic, better known as Taz, is Jenna’s once in a lifetime horse.
An own son of PYC Paint Your Wagon and out of The Retelling, by Special Leader, Taz was bred with speed, power, presence, and the kind of pedigree that turns heads before he ever takes a step.
His sire, PYC Paint Your Wagon, is one of the most influential Quarter Horse race sires of his generation. A Grade 1 winning racehorse with a speed index of 107 and nearly $900,000 in race earnings, PYC Paint Your Wagon went on to become a leading sire with offspring earning tens of millions of dollars. His bloodlines bring together speed, class, and proven performance at the highest levels.
Taz’s dam line adds even more depth through The Retelling, a Special Leader mare going back to Special Effort. With that kind of foundation, Taz was made to run.
Before he became Jenna’s heart horse, Taz was on the racetrack. But his real story began when Jenna bought him and turned him into a barrel horse.
Taz is the horse Jenna went pro with in barrel racing. He carried her across the country, to rodeos in almost every state, and into some of the biggest and most unforgettable arenas of her life. He has been a racehorse, a barrel horse, a liberty horse, a brand builder, a photoshoot model, a travel partner, and the center of a story that became so much bigger than competition.
He helped launch brands. He carried dreams. He stood in front of cameras, crowds, trailers, arenas, mountains, oceans, and backdrops from all over the country. Jenna has always joked that he may be the most photographed horse in the world, and after seeing the years of photos, miles, campaigns, and memories, it is easy to understand why.
Taz is not just talented. He is stunningly beautiful, wildly intelligent, deeply expressive, and truly extraordinary. He is the kind of horse people remember. The kind of horse who seems to know when the moment matters. The kind of horse who becomes part of your identity, your story, and your soul.
Now retired at Rockstar Ranch, Taz is still the king of the ranch and one of the greatest loves of Jenna’s life.
He has been there through it all. The wins, the losses, the reinventions, the heartbreaks, the brands, the rodeos, the moves, the healing, and the becoming.
Below are some of Jenna’s favorite photos of Taz.
To really understand their story, read The Enough Evolution series. In many ways, the whole story starts with him.
Tipsy
Firewater Cocktails, better known as Tipsy, is the golden girl of Rockstar Ranch.
A gorgeous palomino mare by Dualin For Cocktails and out of Miss Dixie Flitt, Tipsy carries a powerful blend of beauty, athleticism, and proven performance bloodlines.
Her pedigree brings together two standout worlds: the barrel horse influence of Fire Water Flit and the reining legacy of Wimpys Little Step. Through her dam line, Tipsy traces back to Fire Water Flit, one of the most recognized names in the barrel racing industry. On her sire side, she carries the influence of Wimpys Little Step, a legendary NRHA sire with offspring earnings in the millions.
Tipsy is beautiful, talented, and full of presence. She is one of the up and coming horses we are especially excited to continue developing at Rockstar Ranch.

Banshee
RR Born Ta Be Wild, better known as Banshee, was born on May 23rd, the same day Jenna and Ted got married while they were in Hawaii.
By the stallion Born Ta Be Famous, Banshee came into the world with a name that already felt larger than life. Bold, wild, and full of personality, he has been special from the very beginning.
With big presence, strong bloodlines, and a story tied forever to one of the most meaningful days in our lives, Banshee is one of the young prospects we are especially excited to watch grow up at Rockstar Ranch.

Della
RR Tres De La Chrome is a sorrel 2025 mare, better known as Della. She is one of the most special young horses at Rockstar Ranch. She carries family, history, chrome, and the next generation of Rockstar Ranch all in one.
Her registered name was chosen with a little creativity and a lot of meaning. “Tres” means three, and Della has three giant chrome white socks that make her impossible to miss. “De La” became Della, a nod to Della Smeenk and the South Dakota family roots Jenna grew up with.
Della is by California Cash 37, a performance stallion with barrel racing earnings and recorded barrel progeny earnings. His pedigree brings in major Quarter Horse speed through Jess Louisiana Blue, Mr Jess Perry, and Dash For Cash, giving Della a strong foundation of athleticism, speed, and proven performance bloodlines.
She is out of Fancy, the mare owned by Jenna’s late dad, Greg Smeenk, which makes Della even more meaningful. Fancy’s line goes back to Chieflika, a horse deeply connected to the Smeenk family’s rodeo history in South Dakota.
With her flashy chrome socks, beautiful presence, speed bred pedigree, and sentimental family ties, Della is more than an up and coming prospect.
She is legacy in motion.
More on Jenna’s family ties:
Horses, cattle, ranching, rodeo, and the western way of life were not just hobbies in the Smeenk family. They were part of the foundation.
Chieflika was purchased by Jack and Betty Smeenk, who were heavily involved in Quarter Horse shows, South Dakota rodeo, and raising and training performance horses. Chieflika is also credited with earning a Register of Merit in barrel racing, pole bending, and calf roping.
A Register of Merit, often called an ROM, is an AQHA achievement that recognizes proven performance. In simple terms, it means the horse earned enough points in recognized competition to show that he was not just bred well, but could actually perform.
That part matters because Della’s story is not only about papers. It is about horses that were ridden, trained, hauled, competed on, and woven into the life of a family.
Through Fancy, Della carries Jenna’s late dad’s mare. Through Chieflika, she carries the Smeenk family’s South Dakota rodeo history. Through California Cash 37, she carries modern speed and performance bloodlines.
Della is sentimental, flashy, athletic, and full of meaning.
